Spain Says Defence Minister’s Plane Hit by GPS Jamming near Kaliningrad

A Spanish Air Force jet carrying Defence Minister Margarita Robles reportedly experienced a sudden GPS disruption while flying near Russia’s Kaliningrad enclave en route to Lithuania, the Spanish Ministry of Defence confirmed.

The interference is being attributed to Russian electronic warfare capabilities, though Madrid has not named Moscow directly.

Onboard the aircraft were also relatives of Spanish service members participating in NATO’s Vilkas air defence mission.

The jet was able to continue using alternate navigation systems, and officials say there was no loss of control.
