President Donald Trump has announced new tariffs set to begin on October 1. All imported pharmaceuticals will face a 100 percent tariff unless the manufacturer is currently building a production facility in the United States.
The White House says the policy is intended to push multinational drug companies to relocate manufacturing to America.
Trump also revealed a 50 percent tariff on kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities, along with a 30 percent duty on upholstered furniture.
Officials say the measures are part of a broader strategy to revive domestic industry and reduce reliance on foreign supply chains.
