President Donald Trump has announced that Japan will invest $550 billion into the United States.
Speaking at a press event, Trump hailed the move as a “historic commitment” that will boost American industry, infrastructure, and job creation.
Details of the investment plan have yet to be confirmed by Tokyo, but sources suggest it will include major contributions from Japan’s private and technology sectors.
The announcement underscores strengthening U.S.-Japan economic ties following Trump’s recent efforts to secure large-scale foreign investments in America’s manufacturing and energy sectors.
Japanese officials are expected to release further information in the coming days.
