Donald Trump has signed a memorandum directing the United States to withdraw from 66 international organizations that his administration says no longer serve American interests.
The list includes 31 United Nations affiliated bodies.
The White House said many of the organizations promote radical climate agendas, global governance frameworks and ideological programmes that undermine US sovereignty and economic strength.
Officials argue the move will refocus American resources on national priorities rather than international institutions viewed as hostile to US values.
The decision marks a major shift in Washington’s global engagement and is expected to trigger diplomatic backlash from allies and international partners.
