The United States is preparing to present Iran with new terms for a nuclear agreement, demanding a complete cessation of uranium enrichment.
A senior U.S. official warned that failure to comply would result in significant repercussions for Iran.
This development follows five rounds of negotiations between U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, which have reached an impasse over Iran’s insistence on continuing its enrichment program.
Iran maintains that its nuclear activities are for peaceful purposes and has proposed a regional enrichment consortium with Saudi Arabia and the UAE to increase transparency.
As diplomatic efforts continue, the U.S. has emphasised that all options remain on the table to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons capabilities.
