U.S. Delegation Off To Pakistan For Iran Talks

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Sharif has invited both Iran and the US to send delegations to Islamabad on Friday 10 April for negotiations on a permanent settlement.

Iranian President Pezeshkian confirmed Iran’s participation in a 45-minute phone call with Sharif on Wednesday.

The US delegation is expected to include Vice President JD Vance, special envoy Steve Witkoff, and Jared Kushner.

The talks will be based on Iran’s 10-point proposal, which includes demands for Iranian sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz, US troop withdrawal from Gulf bases, full compensation for war damages, lifting of all sanctions, and the right to nuclear enrichment.

The US 15-point counter-proposal reportedly requires Iran to surrender its enriched uranium stockpile and dismantle its ballistic missile programme.
