WEF Says Islamic Republic Will Not Be Represented at Davos

The World Economic Forum has confirmed that Iran’s foreign minister will not attend this year’s Davos summit.

Although he was invited last autumn, the forum said the tragic loss of civilian lives in Iran over recent weeks means it would not be appropriate for the Iranian government to be represented.

The decision comes amid an intensifying crackdown on protests and growing international condemnation of the regime’s actions.

Davos runs from January 19 to 23 and brings together global political and business leaders.
