Zelensky Open to Direct Talks With Putin on Peace Deal

Volodymyr Zelensky is ready to meet Vladimir Putin to discuss the final unresolved elements of a potential peace agreement, according to Ukraine’s foreign minister.

Andrii Sybiha told Ukrainska Pravda that talks in Abu Dhabi confirmed two sticking points remain territory and the future of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.

Russia is demanding Ukrainian withdrawal from the entire Donbas, which Kyiv rejects as unacceptable. Ukraine is also insisting Russian forces leave the plant, despite a US proposal for joint management.

Sybiha said Zelensky is prepared for face to face talks, though Moscow has questioned their value.
