A 23-year-old man has been jailed for raping a 14-year-old girl at an Essex railway station after grooming her on social media.
Marvin Ogbogbo targeted the victim online in 2019 and persuaded her to meet him, before taking her to the station platform where he carried out the attack and fled.
The victim came forward five years later, providing evidence that allowed detectives to reopen the case.
Ogbogbo was found guilty at Isleworth Crown Court and sentenced to four years in prison.
He has also been placed on the sex offenders register for life.
Police praised the victim’s courage in reporting the assault despite the passage of time.
