Argentina Designates Muslim Brotherhood as Terrorist Group

Argentina has officially designated the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization, according to government officials.

The decision places the group under Argentina’s counterterror framework, enabling asset freezes, financial restrictions and criminal penalties for support or affiliation.

Authorities cited the Brotherhood’s ideological ties to extremist movements and its role in promoting political Islam as grounds for the move.

The designation aligns Argentina with several countries that have taken a harder line against Islamist networks and is expected to have diplomatic and legal implications across the region.
