United Nations Secretary General António Guterres is set to deliver remarks marking the International Day for Combating Islamophobia.
The annual observance highlights concerns about discrimination and hostility directed toward the Islamic ideology around the world.
The UN says the day is intended to raise awareness about rising incidents of anti Muslim prejudice and to encourage governments, civil society and international organisations to address the issue.
Guterres is expected to emphasise the importance of dialogue, mutual understanding and protecting religious freedom.
