Hamas militants are reportedly combing through Hamad City, a large Gaza neighbourhood funded by Qatar, in search of the remains of Israeli hostages who died in captivity.
The area has been heavily damaged by months of conflict, making recovery efforts difficult.
Local sources say Hamas units are using excavators and drones to locate possible burial sites beneath collapsed buildings and tunnels.
International mediators and the Red Cross have urged Hamas to return all bodies as part of the ongoing ceasefire agreement, while Israeli officials continue to monitor the search closely.
