Over 36,000 Civilians Flee After RSF Capture of El Fasher

The United Nations reports that more than 36,000 civilians have fled towns and villages across East Darfur and Kordofan following the capture of El Fasher by UAE-backed Rapid Support Forces.

The mass displacement began within days of the RSF takeover, as fighting intensified between the paramilitary group and Sudanese army units.

Aid agencies warn of worsening humanitarian conditions, with thousands seeking refuge in makeshift camps lacking food, shelter, and medical supplies.

The UN has called for immediate access to affected areas and renewed appeals for international support to prevent further escalation in the region.
