Seventeen police officers were injured on the second consecutive night of rioting in Ballymena, Northern Ireland, as masked crowds hurled petrol bombs, fireworks, bricks and heavy masonry at officers in Clonavon Terrace and surrounding areas.
Rioters set cars and properties ablaze, prompting the PSNI to deploy riot gear, water cannon, plastic baton rounds and dog units to restore order.
Five individuals were arrested for riotous behaviour.
Authorities have condemned the violence, calling it racially motivated and unacceptable, and pledged investigations to hold perpetrators accountable.
