UK government loses appeal to block challenge against Palestine Action ban

The government has lost its attempt to prevent Palestine Action from legally challenging its designation as a terrorist group.

The Court of Appeal rejected the Home Office’s appeal, clearing the way for co-founder Huda Ammori to bring her case in the High Court.

The group was proscribed in July 2025 under the Terrorism Act, making support punishable by up to 14 years’ imprisonment.

This ruling marks a rare judicial check on the government’s use of anti-terror powers.
