South Korea sounds alarm after North unveils new nuke

North Korea paraded its latest intercontinental missile, the Hwasong-20, at a grand military display in Pyongyang, dubbing it its strongest nuclear strategic weapon.

South Korea’s Joint Chiefs say the North’s growing missile and hypersonic arsenal pose a major threat to peace on the peninsula.

Seoul has called for elevated defense readiness and tighter U.S. coordination.

Meanwhile experts note Russian tech may have aided development of the new missile, raising concerns over external involvement in Pyongyang’s weapons programs.
