Greenland’s Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen has rejected Donald Trump’s proposal to send a U.S. hospital ship to the Arctic territory, responding with a blunt “no thanks.”
He said Greenland already has a functioning public healthcare system and does not require outside medical assistance.
The proposal was reportedly linked to Trump’s wider interest in strengthening U.S. involvement in Greenland.
Leaders in both Greenland and Denmark have previously pushed back against similar overtures, stressing that decisions about the territory’s future and services remain firmly in local hands.
