Israel paused today to mark Yom HaShoah – Holocaust Remembrance Day – with sirens sounding across the country and a ceremony at Yad Vashem attended by Prime Minister Netanyahu.
The moment of national reflection came as Israeli ground forces continue to advance in southern Lebanon, with the IDF reporting it is close to taking full control of Bint Jbail.
Israeli paratroopers are operating throughout the town.
Defence Minister Katz, who visited troops in Lebanon over the weekend alongside Netanyahu, said Israel would clear the threat “just as we did in Gaza.”
Hezbollah continued rocket and drone fire into northern Israel overnight.
