Tuapse Refinery Hit For Third Time In Two Weeks

Ukrainian drones struck Russia’s Tuapse oil refinery on the Black Sea coast overnight on 28 April, the third attack in 12 days on the Rosneft-owned facility.

Authorities ordered the evacuation of nearby residents as more than 160 firefighters battled a major blaze, with at least four storage tanks alight and the refinery itself directly hit for the first time.

Russia claims to have intercepted 186 drones across southern regions and occupied Crimea.

The 12 million tonne capacity plant has been offline since 16 April, and environmentalists are now warning of the largest ecological disaster on Russia’s Black Sea coast, with toxic black rain falling on the town.
