Germany has temporarily withdrawn some of its troops from Erbil in northern Iraq due to escalating tensions across the Middle East, according to a spokesman for the German Defence Ministry, cited by AFP and The Times of Israel.
Officials said the move is precautionary and aimed at ensuring the safety of personnel.
Germany maintains forces in Iraq as part of international efforts to train and support local security units.
The withdrawal reflects wider concerns about potential regional spillover from current geopolitical tensions.
