Historic Israel-Lebanon Talks Set for Washington Tomorrow

For the first time since 1983, Israeli and Lebanese ambassadors will hold direct peace talks in Washington on Tuesday, hosted by the US State Department.

Israel will be represented by Ambassador Yechiel Leiter; Lebanon by Ambassador Nada Hamadeh Moawad.

Netanyahu says the agenda is the disarmament of Hezbollah and normalisation of relations.

Israel has explicitly rejected any ceasefire with Hezbollah as a precondition.

Israeli strikes in Lebanon continued over the weekend, killing scores, with the IDF saying it hit over 200 Hezbollah targets in 24 hours.
