IRGC Accuses US of “Maximalism” as Nuclear Talks Hit Wall

Iran’s Foreign Minister Araghchi has published his first statement since returning from Islamabad, saying the two sides came within inches of a memorandum of understanding before the US shifted goalposts at the last moment.

Iran’s red lines include its right to uranium enrichment, Iranian control of the Strait of Hormuz, sanctions relief, and an end to Israeli operations in Lebanon.

Washington’s red lines include the complete dismantling of Iran’s nuclear facilities and the removal of all enriched uranium.

The two-week ceasefire expires 22 April, and there are no new talks scheduled.
