Iran has summoned all European Union ambassadors accredited in Tehran to protest the bloc’s decision to list the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organisation.
Iranian officials condemned the move as hostile and unlawful, warning it would further damage already strained relations with the European Union.
Tehran accused the EU of politicising terrorism designations and interfering in Iran’s internal affairs.
The escalation marks a sharp downturn in diplomatic ties, raising fears of retaliation and reduced channels for dialogue at a time of heightened regional tensions.
