Pentagon Plans To Suspend Spain From NATO

The Pentagon is drawing up plans to suspend Spain’s NATO membership, Reuters revealed today, as punishment for Madrid’s refusal to grant US aircraft access to NATO bases in Spain during the war against Iran.

The proposals target allies who declined to fight alongside Washington or criticised Israel, with senior officials openly framing it as a test of obedience.

Pete Hegseth told reporters at the Pentagon that Europe must take a larger role in the Strait of Hormuz, calling it “much more their fight than ours”.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk warned the Financial Times that Russia could attack a NATO member within months and that the US was unlikely to defend Europe.

The alliance is splintering in real time.
