According to Ukrainian naval spokesperson Dmytro Pletenchuk, during a nighttime drone assault on occupied Crimea, Russian forces accidentally downed their own Su-30SM fighter jet.
Intercepted radio traffic reportedly revealed engine failures in both engines and the pilot’s ejection.
Ukraine’s General Staff also suggested that the jet was likely hit by Russian air defenses while trying to repel UAV attacks.
No official Russian response has confirmed the incident yet.
