In his State of the Union address, President Donald Trump warned that Iran is building missiles that “will soon reach the United States of America.”
He said the threat cannot be ignored and accused Tehran of expanding its military capabilities at pace.
Trump added, “I will never allow the world’s number one sponsor of terror to have a nuclear weapon,” signalling a hard line stance on Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
The remarks come amid heightened tensions and ongoing debate over how to confront Iran’s missile and nuclear programmes.
