The US military has announced the seizure of an oil tanker linked to Venezuela in the North Atlantic.
Officials said the vessel, identified as Bella 1, was intercepted during a maritime operation targeting sanctions evasion networks tied to Caracas.
The tanker is suspected of transporting crude oil in violation of US sanctions imposed on Venezuela’s energy sector.
American forces boarded the ship without incident and took control of the cargo.
The seizure marks a further escalation in Washington’s efforts to disrupt illicit oil shipments connected to Venezuela and increase economic pressure on Nicolás Maduro’s regime.
