Ukraine’s new Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko announced a full audit of public finances just hours after being confirmed by parliament.
She said the goal is to achieve “real savings” and crack down on inefficiencies.
Svyrydenko also called for a major acceleration of privatisation efforts to boost economic stability.
Her top priorities include securing consistent supplies for the Ukrainian army and ramping up domestic weapons production.
The former economy minister is expected to bring a more technocratic approach to Ukraine’s wartime governance as pressure mounts to balance defence needs with long-term economic reform.
