Ukraine has formally laid out its non-negotiable conditions for any future peace agreement after assessing the latest U.S. proposal.
Verkhovna Rada Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk said Kyiv will not accept limits on its armed forces, its alliances or its territorial integrity.
Stefanchuk stressed that Ukraine will not agree to any restrictions on the size or capacity of its military, arguing that national defence cannot be negotiated while Russia continues its aggression.
He added that Ukraine must remain free to join international alliances, including NATO, and will not recognise the loss of any of its territories.
Kyiv also insists that NATO and EU accession must be written into long-term security guarantees, making it clear that Ukraine’s future lies firmly within Western institutions.
