Italian police have arrested three Moroccan migrants accused of attacking a young couple and raping an 18-year-old woman in front of her fiancé in Rome.
The assault took place on October 25 in Tor Tre Teste, an area in eastern Rome that has seen a spike in violent crimes.
Investigators say the attackers crashed into the couple’s parked car, dragged them outside, restrained the 24-year-old man and raped his fiancée before fleeing.
The traumatised couple filed a police report immediately after the incident.
Two suspects were arrested in Rome, while the third was captured in Venice days later.
This is not the first violent sexual assault reported in the area.
Last year, a Gambian migrant with a humanitarian permit raped two women in the same park, raising renewed concerns about public safety and Italy’s handling of migrant crime.
