Father Ted creator arrested by armed police at Heathrow for expressing opinions

Father Ted creator Graham Linehan was arrested at Heathrow Airport defending women’s rights on social media.

The 57-year-old writer, returning from Arizona, was ambushed by five armed officers who detained him immediately after landing and told him he was “under arrest for three tweets.”

These included a post calling male entry into female-only spaces a “violent act,” a caption mocking a trans rally, and another saying: “I hate them… f*** em.”

Linehan said custody stress sent his blood pressure to “stroke territory,” leading to hospitalisation.

He has been bailed with a ban from X and faces trial Thursday at Westminster magistrates’ court.
