Five survivors involved in the national grooming gang inquiry have said they will only remain part of the process if Safeguarding Minister Jess Phillips stays in her position.
Their statement follows yesterday’s announcement from four other survivors who vowed to return only if Phillips resigns.
The divide highlights deep tensions within the inquiry after months of delays, leadership withdrawals, and accusations of political interference.
Survivor representatives are now urging the government to stabilise the process and restore trust before further participants walk away from the long-delayed investigation into child exploitation networks.
